Grrr
I am in a really bad mood right now. I should be downtown watching TFK play, but no I am not because I worked until almost 11 last night making me extremely sleepy today. I would have gone to see TFK, but seeing that I am already tired, the fact that I am point man on two projects and one conversion for tomorrow and next week, and the person who normally deals with all this crap it out.
What I don’t get about this who situation is why do I get stuck doing this when they promoted someone else to be my boss? Why don’t they get stuck doing this stuff instead of me? I am sure they got a nice pay raise with the new position.
I was going to have tomorrow off since I was going to be tired from the TFK concert. Oh and I loved this, when I was leaving the person I am coving for told me to get lots of sleep because I am going to be in the hot seat tomorrow and next week (the whole time he is gone). That made me feel great. I am working and doing my best why in the world would that put me in a hot seat. I have been working on his project this week in prep for his vacation, it was the project I was on before my current one, but I have not work on it in at least 3 or 4 month, but hey this week I should know what all is going on.
I hope when I get some rest I feel better about all this, like I said really crappy mood right now and am ranting, maybe even raving. I just want the dryer to get done so I can get to pass out time.
A tough situation calls for tough questions.
If this work really should be done by the guy they promoted above you, ask him why you have to do it, and why he does not?
His answer will dictate the second round of questioning. Just remember to ask your imediate boss first, never jump over him and go to his boss first.
If this truely is your imediate boss’s work, let him do it. If you can’t do that, document all the work you do when the project is done. Bring this up to your imediate boss, then go above him and show your the one doing all the work.
It sounds like they don’t treat you very well, and work you too hard.
Have you been looking for other jobs?
I thought the whole point of being the boss was that you could make other people do your work.
It sounded like this guy is only a team leader or group leader not the boss.
True he may deligate the work, but it sounds like school, when you were put into groups. One guy does all the work, then the “leader” of the group takes all the credit for everyone elses work.
If that’s the case the next time the “leader” has a big project to complete, just take the completion week off on vacation Eric lol.
What makes it more complicated gentlemen is the fact the “imediate boss” first is a SHE who is good friends with Eric and his sister. Soooooooooooooo….this complicates things a little bit more. Because we all know women are very complicated to deal with and then having a boss that is your friend makes it worse.
Tough situation…regardless they work him too hard. (that is an understatement)
Pretty much what Leah said. Could go more in depth, but that would just be boring.
