For those of you who don’t freakwent my flickr or facebook pages, I give you one of the first pictures with my new camera.  I spend last Saturday morning at Percy Warner exploring a bit of the park and trying to get a feel for the new camera.  I was only able to walk around a fraction (2.5 mile loop) of the park, but what I saw was very pretty and I am looking forward to going back again.

I don’t really know what else to say about the camera other than I am loving it.  I have so much to learn about it, but that is more exciting than anything else.  I have already gotten a few shots that I like, which I did not think I would really get anything the first time out.  As I suspected I am already wanting a good macro lens and something more on the telephoto side, but that will have to wait.  That is not to say that I am not happy with what I have just a couple of lens that I know I would get some use out of, especially the macro since I seem to be obsessed with macros.

I had my last physical therapy session on Monday.  I have a ton of exercises that I have to keep doing and have to take it very slow when I try and increase my distance.  Right now I am only running a mile when I go out.  It will take me forever to build back up, not to mention the cold weather, but at least it is not hurting all the time like it was before.  I still have some pain, depending on what I am doing, but I just try and stop when it starts hurting even a little bit and go from there.  Basically better than it was, but not perfect.

I got my Canon XSi last night.  I have not had much time to play with it yet, but from the little I have done I think I am going to love it.  My order was split so right now I only have the camera, 18-55 IS kit lens, and a nifty 50.  The memory card did not come in, which sucks.  I am going to try and pick up a bag tonight before dinner.

I can’t wait to get out and try this thing out.  Just from what I have played with so far it is going to take me awhile to learn all I need to know.  My P&S had a 12x zoom and handled macro shots very well so I am guessing that I am going to have to invest in a couple more lens cover those two ranges, but that will have to wait quite awhile.

If all goes well I will have at least a couple of pics up on flickr after this weekend.

One day I sat by a lake that was so large I could not see land in when I look out over the horizon.  I sat and watched the boats come and go as I hugged my legs to keep warm as the waves crashed against the rocks.  I closed my eyes and dreamed about what life could be.  I sat by that lake for hours enjoying the cool breeze as I lost myself in the sound and site of this glorious creation.  When my time came to an end the lake took part of me and I part of it, neither the same after our time together.
